"...Facing the real possibility of death, David decided that, if he survived, he was going to do something worthwhile with his ability. 'I had a chance not many people get: for three months I was able to think about my life, my future. I thought about my gift, and I was determined that, when I came back [home], I would use it.' Because of his diabetes, David was in the first wave of hostages to be freed. He was taken to Baghdad, and flew home on the first airlift with Richard Branson and Sir Edward Heath...Back in England, David was true to his vow. He began working as a counsellor for Aids patients, and became involved with the complementary health unit at the hospital where he worked. 'I studied the energies inside the human body, and began to understand how my own gift works...'Patients come to him with illnesses such as cancer, migraine, and depression. He does not claim to work miracles. 'I don't use that word, although I have seen incredible things. This is a natural form of healing. It can work with conventional medicine, or take over when there is nothing more that conventional medicine can offer."
